Upland Bird Hunts

A variety of different hunting options exist with guided upland hunts. We offer a string of some of the finest bird dogs available to assist your hunt. Our upland hunts follow a traditional hunting style over quality pointing dogs, stalking through farm land edges, range land, and over rolling sandhills with plum thickets.

We offer a limited number of wild quail hunts in the Texas Panhandle on private property. Four-person group requirement. Quail season for 2025-2026 runs from November 1st – February 28th. Call for date availability and pricing.

Pheasant, chukar, and quail preserve hunts are available at 10-2-4 Ranch. Request David Morris Outfitters as your guide!

All hunters must have a Texas hunting license and upland game bird endorsement. The daily bag limit for quail is 15 birds.

Recommended Shot Size

7 ½” shot 2 ¾” shell for 28, 20, or 12 gauge shot-guns.

Included In the Hunt

Blinds, decoys, chairs, and transportation to the field from the shop. Complete guide services: field care and packaging of birds. Taxidermist drop-off can be arranged as well.  

Not Included in the Hunt

No licensed taxidermy, lodging, meals, shipping, airport pick-up, alcohol, or gratuity are included in the hunt.

Recommended Gear

Hunters are required to obtain their own Texas Hunting License prior to the hunt. Texas fall weather is unpredictable, so it is recommended that you come prepared for all seasons. Layering clothes is helpful, as mornings can be cold, but the days can warm up considerably.
